Casa Maddalena is a spacious, (200 square meters)  elegant apartment in the historic fourteenth century Palazzo Arnolfini, located in the  "centro storico"(historic center) within  the medieval walls of Lucca.  The palazzo is a national landmark, protected by the Belle Arti.  From the street entrance, guests can arrive to the apartment by elevator or original stone steps of the palazzo.

Casa Maddalena has been renovated, maintaining the integrity of the original wood beam and cotto ceilings and a magnificent arched stone wall. Local craftsmen artfully placed 400 year old cotto tiles onto the floor, to recreate a traditional Lucchese pattern. Beautiful antique and custom made furnishings grace the brightly sunlit spaces. 

 

There are two bedrooms, each with Italian matrimoniale size beds.  The master, with en suite marble bathroom and large shower, has a spectacular view of the medieval wall.  A second marble guest bathroom, located next to the guest bedroom, has a tub/shower.  Those who love to cook will enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, with old style stone sink and Italian Ilve stove/oven, opening onto the salon with fireplace and dining room with a table that seats 10.  Beautiful art and many refined details add to the splendor of this enchanting apartment.
